2011 has probably been the toughest year for me, but also the most gracious to say the least. I keep saying that it’s my year of courage but thinking about it, this year has been more about discoveries:

• I’ve discovered how it feels like to be hurt and crushed like a stepped-on giant ipis; 
• but at the same time discovered that regeneration only comes from the hands of God. 
• That pain is a critical part of growth and of hope. 
• That healing is only possible when you give Jesus the pieces. 
• That courage is sometimes disguised as letting things go.
• That endings are necessary to make new beginnings.
• That when God commands you to step out of your boat, He makes the waters solid for you. So never worry about anything. God knows what he’s doing, trust in that.
• That with all our big mistakes and failures this year, we have a bigger God cheering us on. We do disappointing things, but that God doesn’t stop loving despite our shortcomings. He loves us exactly the way we all want to be loved: unconditionally and unfailingly. That’s something we usually neglect and seriously need to hold on to.

Here’s to 2012: leaving the past behind and looking forward to what lies ahead (Philippians 3:13)
